Incident Reports:
- Details of guest misconduct (e.g., theft, property damage, noise disturbances, fraud).
- Incident reports may include supporting witness names and statements, which are stored securely and not shared externally.
Guest Identification (used for real-time lookup only):
- First and last name.
- Driver’s license number (for Australian residents).
- Passport number (for international travellers).
Operator Information:
- Business name, contact details, and property information.
- How We Use Your Information
- Safety Verification: Confirm guest identity during check-in using real-time lookup.
- Incident Prevention: Screen for past misconduct to protect your business and guests.
- Network Collaboration: Share anonymized incident details (e.g., “Property damage, Airlie Beach”) with other Guest Advisor members.
- Legal Compliance: Respond to lawful requests from authorities.
- What We Do Not Share or Retain
- Guest Advisor does not retain driver’s license or passport numbers used for lookup. These identifiers are ephemeral and used only as search parameters at the time of check-in.
- Personal identifiers are never disclosed to other members or third parties.
- Guest Advisor does not build guest profiles unless an incident report is submitted.
- Data Security
- Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Access Controls: Restricted to authorised Guest Advisor members.
- Third-Party Providers: Partners handling data must comply with strict confidentiality agreements.
- Data Retention
- Incident reports and operator-submitted data are stored for 5 years, then securely deleted unless required by law.
- For Operators
- Operators must comply with the Guest Advisor Operator Agreement, available in the members’ area after signing up.
- Your Rights
- Access: Request a copy of your data.
- Correction: Update inaccurate information.
- Deletion: Ask to remove data (where permitted by law).
